Our Craftsmen
Our craftsmen employ a broad range of skills in their work, many of which have been long forgotten. The arts of joinery, inlay, veneer application, carving, and lathe turning are all a part of our daily operations. The demands of accurate recreation or preservation of hand applied finishes finds us using many talents and techniques not found in most wood working shops.
Although recent projects have included Woodrow Wilson’s pool table, Cole Porter’s piano, and General Douglas McArthur’s desk, you are more likely to find Grandma’s sewing stand in our shop. Nothing is too small or unimportant.
Smart recycling of curb found drawers.
These drawers were picked -up curbside by a very smart and enterprising woman who had brought them to our shop to have cabinets made to house them. It was a gift to a very lucky husband to store his extensive mineral collection.
We know that is backwards, but that is our business. Bring in your old dusty furniture and we will return it like new. Well not exactly. We will return in it after we restore your piece to it’s original luster with some the history that give’s our antique restoration the quality and look you want.
