We are very proud and happy to let everyone know that we have , since June , been working on and completed major restoration work in the ” Old Main” at Delbarton School in Mendham , NJ. Our work consisted of restoration of all woodwork in the Main Lobby, Music Room , Stairway to the 2nd floor and the former Staff Dining area. We not only refinished all wood paneled walls and ceilings but we also replaced numerous missing components such as carvings , turnings and tons of moldings. We will be posting photos of the entire project shortly and we hope that everyone takes a moment to view this effort and appreciate this magnificent and historic landmark. Eric and Pete Schichtel

Waldorf Astoria Planters
The Waldorf Astoria had contacted us sometime back to make 4 planters to match the existing decor. We produced these beautiful pieces using by utilizing many long forgotten techniques such as hand veneering, carving and French polishing. These pieces appear in various movie scenes that were filmed in the hotel. Pete
Custom pieces made for the Waldorf Astoria in New York City
Over the past 20 years we have had the opportunity to create quite a few unique and custom pieces of furniture for The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. These pieces are one of a kind and are designed to blend with existing decor. Many of these works required old – world techniques in order to achieve the desired results such as carving and specialized veneer work.
Custom carved corbels
This is a pair of large custom made architectural corbels. After our customer, who is a builder , exhausted every source trying to find a match to existing woodwork in a home, he came to us to have these carvings custom made. We hand carved these out of solid mahogany then finished them in white to match existing painted woodwork. Although not done frequently on this scale, we often have to reproduce carved accents on reproductions and antique restored pieces. This old-world style craftsmanship is almost non-existent today and is a great asset to our offerings as a custom woodworking and antique restoration shop. Peter Schichtel
